At the EIB, Dana currently heads the Life Sciences and Health division, after working for 9 years as a senior health economist in the same team, responsible for investment projects preparation, appraisal, economic evaluation, monitoring and technical assistance, as well as development of new instruments and programs for the life sciences and health sector within the Bank.

Dana is a health economist with more than 25 years of experience in health investments, health financing and funding, providers’ payment mechanisms, analysis, design and implementation of health systems reforms programs (including health insurance systems), advisory services for public private partnerships in health, as well as implementation of public health programs in priority areas of intervention. Dana holds a Medical Doctor Degree, a Master’s degree in Social and Health Services Management, a Master’s degree in Political Sciences and a postgraduate degree in Health Economics.

Before joining the Bank, she worked for more than 15 years with several international organizations such as the World Bank, USAID, IFC (health PPP advisory), Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency and WHO. Other professional experiences include coordination of several health sector reform projects in countries like Romania, Moldova and Türkiye and teaching in the postgraduate Health management and Health economics programs at the Romanian National School of Public Health. She was until 2022 the President of the Patients’ Classification Systems professional organization (PCSI).
