Alfons Hoekstra is full professor Computational Science & Engineering at the Computational Science Lab of the University of Amsterdam. His research focusses on Virtual Human Twins, mainly in the Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular domain, on Multiscale Modeling of Complex Systems, and on High Performance Computing, He is editor of the Journal of Computational Science. He also serves as scientific director of the Molecular and Materials Design Technology Hub of the University of Amsterdam.
