Andrew Smith is Head of External Relations for ELIXIR Europe. In this role he manages ELIXIR’s engagement with member states, funders and policy-makers and leads ELIXIR’s engagement with EU institutions. He is coordinator of the Horizon Europe-funded ELIXIR-STEERS project, which helps to develop community best practices for software development. From December 2023 to May 2024, Andy acted as Interim Director of ELIXIR during its transition phase.
