Wendy Rayner

Scottish Government

Wendy leads the NHS Scotland Circular Economy Programme at the Scottish Government, her work focuses on working with multiple stakeholders to reduce the impact from the supply chain which account for circa 60%+ of all healthcare carbon emissions.

Wendy has worked directly with NHS Scotland for the last 10 years and prior to that worked as an external consultant for the NHS and has over 20 years’ experience, including working on projects and representing the WHO and UN outside of the UK.

Wendy has worked internationally as a consultant and as Chief Sustainability Officer for an international producer responsibility company in the electronics sector, focusing on North America and the APAC Regions.

Wendy is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management, a Chartered Resource Manager, a Chartered Environmentalist and a member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) Circular Economy Steering Group. She has a Global MBA from Manchester Business School and studied in the UK, Hong Kong, China, USA and the UAE. She is the current Chair for the Chartered Institute of Waste Management in Scotland and the Scottish Institute of Directors National Sustainability Lead.
